Carboy and Bottle Brushes

Carboy Brushes

brushes The carbouy brush is a special "L-shaped" brush that is used to clean out glass carbouys. It is very similar to a bottle brush, except that it is a little bit longer, and shaped like a "L". The "L-shape" allows for easy cleaning of the carbouy sides. It is important to keep the carbouy brush as clean as possible, thoroughly rinsing and washing after each use. (Also hang to dry).

It is suggested that you rinse with sodium metabisulfate before and after each use. Carbouy brushes can be found at most wine making supply stores.

Bottle Brushes

A bottle brush is a special brush that is able to compress enough to fit through the neck of the bottle, but then expands to be wide enough to clean the sides of the bottle. As with the carbouy brush, it is important to keep the bottle brush as clean as possible--thoroughly rinsing and washing after each use. Bottle brushes can also be found at most wine making supply stores.
